Sorry its been so long between posts, the days are just getting away from me! I’m Super excited about today’s post because its using one of my favourite stamp sets in this new 2016-2017 Catalogue AND two of the new gorgeous In Colours for 2016-2018, Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy….Plus it’s also for my son’s 19th Birthday…wow I feel old saying that lol
I first started with some Watercolour Paper and a small piece of window sheet (but you can use almost anything as long as it’s a slick surface, like a craft sheet or even keeping the plastic that your dies come in is perfect) I smooshed a small amount of Dapper Denim ink directly onto the window sheet and sprayed with water (when spraying with water, do this AWAY from everything else because trust me, you’ll get some unwanted ink on all your goodies!! lol) I then lightly put my Watercolour Paper onto the window sheet, being careful not to cover the whole area (I like some white areas) and drying with my heat tool in between. Once you get your desired look repeat with Emerald Envy… and as easy as that you have your background sorted.
Once it was completely dry I lightly stamped the background with one of the images from the stamp set One Wild Ride, it’s like a smudgy image…..using Smoky Slate. I didn’t put it onto a clear block, so I had more control of where and how much of the image I wanted on it…. I used a distressing tool to ‘Grunge’ up the card but I didn’t do this to the black card base.
For the sentiment, I stamped the banner itself first in Basic Gray Archival Ink and then I bent the “Happy Birthday” stamp until it fit perfectly into the banner…..I tried to ‘Grunge’ up the banner the same as I’ve done with the rest of the card but just go gentle or you will rip the paper 😉
OMG I am seriously in love with Letters For You stamp set and matching Framelits! I’ve also used the new 2016-2018 In Colour Enamel Shapes….so pretty.
For the image below, I inked half the stamp with Dapper Denim and the other half with Emerald Envy….and voila perfect.
